‘How to Care for Your Lizard’ by Thomas Stewart.

I think this book will be very helpful for people new to Lizard care or those looking into ownership for the first time, before actually buying a Lizard.

The pictures are very good, but only of a few different species.

They give you a look at how a healthy Bearded Dragon, Green Iguana, a Gecko and a Green Anole etc.. should look.

If you are planning to purchase this book you might also need to look later for more specific information on the care of the Species of Lizard you decide to purchase.

However if you want the basics on how to care for a Bearded Dragon or other popular Lizard, I believe that this book will be helpful for you. The information that you will need about housing your Lizard and heating in different ways are included. You also find out about the food which various Lizards will need to be fed.

Your final choice of Lizard maybe effected by its diet. Some younger people do not like the idea of feeding a pet Lizard with live food. Not only crickets and meal worms, but also, 1 Day old Chick’s and baby mice, (pinkies available frozen from good pet stores).

All Lizards at sometime should be given fresh fruit and vegetables. Always check before feeding your lizard, that the type of fresh food you intend to give him is not harmful to him.

Some plant types are also poisonous to your lizard. You can safely use artifial plants to decorate your vivarium, to make it look more pleasing to the eye, or seek advice about the type of potted, real, plants you intend to introduce to your vivarium.
